I am a Historic House Interpreter (or an HHI for short.) I have been working for Mackinac State Historic Parks (MSHP) for 7 seasons now. I have the best job. Every summer I get to wear beautiful 19th century dresses, (and undergarments) I do a myriad of 19th century crafts, I cook over an open hearth, I blacksmith, and I get paid to talk to people! Keep reading if you’ve ever wondered what exactly goes on at these places.
